HOW DOES 'A PERFECT DAY' LOOK TO ME?



I tend to think you can learn a lot about someone when they describe their perfect day.

If I had my choice, my ideal day would begin with a walk on the beach.. and then sipping a steamy cup of fragrant coffee (caramel lattes are my favourite) at a seaside cafe. There'd be plenty of opportunities to enjoy time with my family and grandkids but yes, I’d spend a lot of time in my little art studio.

Oh, and I'd end the day curled up with a good book…. yes, perfect!

A REALITY CHECK



Yes, sadly… most days are not perfect. And my days are filled with much more than my art. Some days are tiring, disheartening and messy, like scribbles on a page. So… my art is more than just fun; it’s also self-care. I can relax and unwind while I work on my projects.



WHAT I'VE LEARNED



Over the years, I’ve tried different art media, different styles. And while I enjoyed it, I don’t think it was really ‘my thing’. But a while back, I discovered beautiful colour pencil art and loved it. So I took some colour pencil classes with SkillShare… The buttery-soft PrismaColour pencils are a joy to work with. But mostly, I use Polychromos. I can add so many more layers of colours to my art and it gives it so much more depth and vibrancy. Take a few moments and check out my designs.
